Interesting Facts
Born in the arid region of Cauquenes, among old vines planted over 65 years ago, with rain as the only source of moisture, Vigno reflects the Carignan winemakers' association's dedication to their land, nature, and the people of the arid Maule region. The grapes were carefully hand-picked and selected, then cold-macerated at 5°C for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation took place using selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks at 26°C. Malolactic fermentation took place in oak. Fifty percent of the wine was aged in first-, second-, and third-use French oak barrels, and the remaining 50% in uncharred barrels.
