Interesting Facts
Roc de Cambes is owned by François Mitjavile and is located in the Côtes de Bourg appellation. The estate’s wines elevate the reputation of this modest appellation by utilizing the region's finest terroir—12 hectares at the Les Croûtes site. The vineyards, with vines over 30 years old, are planted with Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and are situated on a south-facing, amphitheater-shaped slope featuring clay-limestone soils. Following hand-harvesting and primary fermentation in concrete tanks, the wine is aged in oak barrels (50% new, on average) for 15–18 months.
