Interesting Facts
The history of Château Les Eyraux is linked to the legend of the Viking raid on Bordeaux in 888. According to legend, Scandinavian sailors, sailing their longships up the Gironde-et-Garonne, reached the region known today as Les Eyraux. The local wine so impressed the Vikings that, rather than plunder the winery, they demanded several barrels of the finest wine in exchange for the winemaker's life. This story formed the basis for Château Les Eyraux's visual identity—the image of a longship on the label alludes to the Nordic sailors' legendary introduction to Bordeaux's winemaking tradition.
