Interesting Facts

Tertre Roteboeuf is the flagship estate of François Mitjavile, where he has been crafting outstanding wines since 1978. The grapes are grown on a six-hectare plot in Saint-Émilion; the vineyard is situated in a natural, south-facing amphitheater with clay-limestone soils. François favors slow, even ripening and late harvesting, allowing the grapes to reach full maturity and achieve their maximum potential. Following hand-harvesting and primary fermentation in concrete tanks, the wine is transferred to Radoux "Blend" series French oak barrels—exclusively new ones—for an 18-month aging period. The cooper selects wood with an exceptionally tight grain structure, ensuring a slow extraction process suited for long-term aging.
