Interesting Facts
This wine is made from Nerello Mascalese grapes from a single, 90-year-old vineyard, located in Contrada Rampante at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, which existed before the phylloxera epidemic. Sandy soils rich in volcanic rock, combined with a cool microclimate, give this wine its unique character. The harvest takes place in the second half of October. After crushing and destemming, it undergoes approximately 18 days of maceration in untreated cement tulip tanks. Aging in oak barrels for 14 months concludes with several months of bottle maturation.
