Interesting Facts
Chateau Rosen-Ségla tops the list of producers in its class, and in all of Bordeaux it is second only to established grandees such as Chateau Latour, Chateau Margaux, Chateau Haut-Brion and Mouton Rothschild. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted into 20-pound boxes before the grapes are mechanically destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 8 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. After maceration, which lasts 21-23 days, malolactic fermentation follows. The wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new.
