Kisi Qvevri Оrange, Duruji Valley, Kahetia
Interesting Facts
Georgian wine Kisi Qvevri, Duruji Veli is made from the grape variety of the same name grown in the Duruji Valley in Kakheti. The average age of the vines reaches 16 years. The vineyards are located in a river valley where the soils are rich in shale, protected by the Greater Caucasus mountain range. Unique geoclimatic conditions allow us to create high-quality products. The harvest is harvested by hand when the berries reach optimal ripeness. At the winery, the berries are carefully sorted, and only the best grapes are selected for wine production. The wine is produced using traditional Kakheti technology in qvevri jugs buried in the ground through natural yeast fermentation. After six months of contact with the pulp, the wine is poured into Caucasian oak barrels and matures for another 4 months.
