Chateau Haut-Marbuzet
Château Haut-Marbuset is located in Bordeaux, in the Saint-Estèphe region. Although the Château dates back to the 18th century, its wines only became truly famous in 1952, when Hervé Duboscq became the owner of the Château. Duboscq carried out significant work to restore the Château’s vineyards, increasing their area and laying the foundation for the creation of wines of the highest quality. Since 1962, Duboscq’s son, Henri, has taken over the management of the Château and today he enthusiastically continues his father’s work with the help of his own sons, Bruno and Hugo. Today, the vineyards of Château Haut-Marbuset cover 61 hectares of land located between Montrose to the north and Cos d’Etournelles to the south, on gravelly clay soils interspersed with limestone. 50% of the Cabernet Sauvignon variety is grown here, 10% of Cabernet Franc and 40% of Merlot. This amount of Merlot is unusual for Saint-Estephe, although there are a number of Cru Bourgeois in the Medoc that have a similar predominance of the variety in their vineyards.
