Interesting Facts
“Khvanchkara” is an ancient traditional micro-zone of viticulture, which is one of the best for the production of semi-sweet red Georgian wines. Harvesting is done by hand (only healthy bunches) during the phenolic ripeness of the grapes in October. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and pressed. This is followed by fermentation. When the optimal alcohol level is reached, fermentation is stopped by lowering the temperature. The wine has an excellent balance of acidity and sweetness and is perfect for both rich meat and cheese dishes and berry desserts.
