Interesting Facts
Fire by Night is a wine from a separate site in Paardeberg called Nuvedam. Situated on a high mountain ridge (300-350 m above sea level), Nuvedam is home to 20 hectares of Chenin Blanc. The soil here is pure granite. The vineyards were planted between 1972 and 1985 on different slopes, some facing east, some facing west, some facing north. The grapes are pressed in whole bunches. After fermentation, the wine is aged on fine lees for about one and a half years.
