Azienda Agricola Bisci

The Bisci agricultural enterprise is located in the east of Italy, in the provinces of Macerata and Ancona, on an area of 105 hectares, fully included in the controlled appellation zone of Verdicchio di Matelica. The vineyards directly occupy about 20 hectares of area, of which 14 are reserved for Verdicchio grapes, and 6 for Sangiovese and Merlot. They are located in a hilly area at an altitude of 300-350 m above sea level, on gentle slopes with an exposure to the south.

Bishi's cellar, built in 1980 on a medieval foundation, is located in the very center of the vineyard. All conditions contribute to the growth of high quality grapes: south-oriented vineyards are located on mineral-rich soils in a closed valley, stretching from north to south inside the spurs of the Apennines. A good difference between day and night temperatures contributes to the fact that the wine has a rich and clean aroma and taste. Winemakers are constantly working to improve the quality of grapes by adjusting planting density and yield. In the production of wine, temperature control is used during vinification, the park of oak barrels is updated and steel tanks are put into operation.

Wines under the Bisci brand are well known in Italy and abroad: of course, this is, first of all, Verdicchio - the most "basic" has ratings above 85 UWS points. But the red wines from Marche are also interesting and original: the base Verdicchio annually receives 2 out of 3 glasses from Gambero, while Rosso Fogliano from the vineyard of the same name is a characteristic and accessible example of red wines from the “white” region.
