Eschenauer has a long-standing history
of over 200 years which is strikingly
reminiscent of our group. In 1821, the
Eschenauer family, originally from Alsace,
settled in Bordeaux and made a brilliant
entry into the wine merchant business. The
family became very closely linked with the
reputation of the wines of Bordeaux, which
were very much in the news at the time,
and was instrumental in determining the
price of French wine for export. The family
also acquired very many Bordeaux châteaux
and introduced a proprietary form of
vinification. Today, the brand to which the
family gave its name, has set out to pay
its own tribute by featuring a range of
Bordeaux and grape variety wines able
to satisfy today’s new wine-drinker.
