Busnel

Since 1820, the Bunel family has been producing eau-de-vie, known as Calvados. Ernesto Bünel began to work with Ms. Kötel, who went to the Pey d’Ozha farms and chose the best apple spirits. They began to withstand spirits in their cellars, sell aged calvados, and thus established a joint business. Ernest's son Georges turned out to be a real perfectionist. Continuing his father’s work, he became even more attentive to the choice of apples and spirits, and in 1902 he proclaimed: “There is no good calvados without good apples.” In addition, Georges tried to achieve the perfect taste of his Calvados and, as history has shown, combined in one drink up to 12 o de vies of different ages. In this regard, it is not at all accidental that by the beginning of the 20th century the Bunel calvados had gained a high reputation and were successfully sold throughout France, especially in Paris and Rouen. And in 1938 they entered the American market. Today Bunel products are known in many countries of the world. The company continues the traditions laid down by Ernest and Georges Bünell: it selects the best apples from the Pays d’Oge region for distillation and creates magnificent calvados by mixing spirits of different ages. In 1998, the BUSNEL House was created, a museum and pedagogical center for visitors that traces the history of Calvados and BUSNEL, which today is visited by more than 25,000 people from all over the world.
