Tetramythos

Tetramythos is an organic winery located in Eyaliya in a protected area of the Mount Helmos natural area (Northwestern Peloponnese).
Tetramythos Vineyards have been certified organic since 1996 and are among the first organic vineyards in Greece. The mountain height of the vineyards ranges from 650 to 1050 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest and coldest wine regions in the country. Cultivation of steep slopes, cool sea breezes coming from the nearby Gulf of Corinth, along with complex limestone soils provide the wine with a fresh aromatic character, high acidity and mineral aftertaste.
The farm cultivates Greek indigenous grape varieties and some international ones. Manual collection only. The white variety Roditis and red Kalavritino predominate.

The foundation was laid by the brothers Aristides and Statis Spanos, who were born and raised in the village of Ano Diakopto, where the winery is located. They became interested in growing grapes and making wine at a very young age. In 1999, they met Panagiotis Papagiannopoulos, a local and experienced oenologist. Together they shared a dream of growing grapes organically and producing expressive and quality wines from the historic terroir of Eyaliyah.

Over the next years, they create small batches of wine from existing family vineyards, as well as plant vines of local Greek grape varieties.
The founding year of the winery is considered to be 2004, and currently the company exports 85% of its wine to 22 countries of the world.
