Ascaneli

The Askaneli company was founded in 1998 by the Chkhaidze brothers. The name “Askaneli” is associated with the small, magical village of Askana, located in the beautiful region of Guria, where an old cellar built by their ancestor, Antimoz Chkhaidze, still stands. Antimoses and his entire family were in love with the vine and the divine liquid obtained from grapes. They made wine according to the ancient Georgian method, originally in clay vessels - kvevri. All members of the family were involved in this activity, especially the grandchildren, who received guests with earthenware jugs and small terracotta cups.

The cellar of Antimoz Chkhaidze and several jugs dating back to 1880 are still preserved in the village of Askana. The tradition of this wonderful family was revived by the Chkhaidze brothers. The founder of the company, Gocha Chkhaidze, has been working for many years on the revival of Georgian viticulture, the preservation and restoration of unique grape varieties. The company owns hundreds of hectares of vineyards, two wineries in Kakheti and Tbilisi and one fruit distillery in Guria. In addition to the production of more than 60 types of wine, the company produces aged cognacs, chacha and brut. Askaneli is one of the largest organizations in Georgia, which is one of the top three wine companies in the wine production and viticulture ranking.
