Roqueta Origen

One of the oldest wine enterprises in the region of Catalonia. References to the estate of Santa Maria d'horta d'avinyó as a winery are found in documents from the 12th century. Since then, the estate has been owned by the rocket family. The history of Bodegas Roqueta is closely linked to the region of Bazes. In 1898, following the family viticultural tradition, full of passion for winemaking, Ramon roqueta Torrento founded in the city of Manresa retail wine trade, seeking to give customers the opportunity to purchase the best wine on the most favorable terms. This was the beginning of a new stage of family winemaking, which is characterized by the desire to respond in a timely manner to all changes in demand and combine a rich wine-making experience with the latest technology. In 1938, the founder of "Bodegas Roqueta" Ramon Roqueta was succeeded by his son Valentin roqueta Prat. Currently, Valentin's son Ramon roketa is the President and his son Valentin roketa Guillameth is the chief Executive officer of the company. Thus, four generations of people, United by family ties and devotion to winemaking and wine trade, continue to do what they love, succeeding in an ever-growing competition. Bodegas Roqueta winemakers continue to work with traditional local grape varieties, taking into account the latest wine-making trends, offering consumers a wide choice from Mature wines 20 years old to young, more
concept wines. Respect for the ancient history and winemaking traditions of the region of Catalonia prompted the current owner of the company "Roqueta Origen" - Valenti roqueta Guillameta, to establish a small farm "Masies d'avinyo Abadal" in a unique microclimate, which later became part of the newly created region of Pla de Bages. Valenti roqueta was the head of this DEPARTMENT for many years and it was he who brought technological innovations and winemaking techniques to the region, with the help of which it was possible to emphasize the character of local wines. Bodegas Abadal farm is located on a hilly area and today produces about 300 thousand bottles from 57 hectares of its own vineyards, completely hand-picked. 57 hectares are divided between 14 vineyards, each of which is surrounded by forests, which greatly affects the uniqueness of the organoleptic wines of the economy. The barrel Park consists of 1,100 barriques, 70% of which are French, 24% are American and 6% are Central European. Some wines are aged in 5-6 different types of barrels, because it is allowed by the regulatory body of the DO. Wine farms Bodegas Abadal began to be exhibited at leading international exhibitions since 1994, but the true international success overtook Bodegas Abadal in 2000. High marks from Penin and Parker glorified the wines of this economy and the region Pla De Bages as a whole. Bodegas Abadal, despite its modern approach to winemaking, almost personally revived some autochthonous, forgotten Catalan grape varieties, transplanting them on rootstocks. Among white varieties we are talking about grade Picapoll, and the list of the revived red varieties include: Picapoll Negro, the Chatter, Somali and Mando.
