Roqueta Origen

Roqueta is one of the oldest wineries in the Catalonia region. The Santa Maria d’Horta d’Avinyó estate as a winery was mentioned in documents dating back to the 12th century. Since then, the estate has been owned by the Roqueta family.

The history of Bodegas Roqueta is closely linked to the Bages region. In 1898, following the family tradition of viticulture, full of passion for winemaking, Ramon Roqueta Torrento founded a retail wine shop in the city of Manresa, aiming to give customers the opportunity to purchase the best wine at the most favorable conditions. This was the beginning of a new stage in family winemaking, which is characterized by the desire to promptly respond to all changes in demand and combine extensive winemaking experience with the latest technology. In 1938, the founder of Bodegas Roqueta Ramon Roqueta was replaced by his son Valentin Roqueta Prat. Currently, Valentin's son, Ramon Roqueta, is the president, and his son Valentin Roqueta Guillamet is the general manager of the company. Thus, four generations of people united by family ties and devotion to winemaking and wine trade continue to do what they love, thriving in an increasingly competitive environment. Bodegas Roqueta winemakers continue to work with traditional local grape varieties, taking into account the latest winemaking trends, offering consumers a wide choice from mature wines aged 20 years to young, more conceptual wines.
