Château Le Puy

The Amoro family owns Château Le Puy and has been winemaking since 1610. The main part of the Chateau was rebuilt in 1832, but the old part of the castle dating back to the 17th century has survived to this day. The chateau is located on a rocky plateau with a magnificent view of the Dordogne valley. This area was once nicknamed "the wonderful hills" for the excellent wines produced here. The ruins of a Gallo-Roman settlement have been preserved around the Chateau, and in prehistoric times there was supposedly a center for the manufacture of cutting tools from stone.

The Chateau Le Puy vineyards occupy the highest point in the Gironde department. They are three separate sites with a total area of 51 hectares on the same rocky plateau. In the Chateau, organic and biodynamic viticulture is practiced, as the ancestors did - without artificial fertilizers and chemicals. The winery also uses only natural methods of vinification, excluding the use of sugar and additional yeast strains. Before bottling, Chateau Le Puy wines are not filtered, the bottles are sealed and filled with sealing wax.
