Cune Reserva, Rioja DOC
Interesting Facts
The grapes for Cune Reserva come from the company's own vineyards, known as Caballeros, Santo Tomás and Sarnamoros. All of them are located in Rioja Alta, in the villages of Rodezno and Villalba y Haro. The soils are mainly composed of chalky clay and are found at an altitude of 500 to 600 meters above sea level. The vines are 20-25 years old, all grapes for Cune Reserva are harvested by hand. Alcoholic fermentation took place in 20,000 kg stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for 18 months. After clarification and filtration, the wine is bottled and aged for over 12 months in the cellar under ideal temperature and humidity conditions before release to the market.
